ANYTHING BONDIAN PETE:
I talk about reading a couple of books, Talk of the Devil and The Man with the Golden Typewriter and how I wish to own a typewriter again.
I also met up with a guy called Jim in Orlando who showed me his Lotus. All not being a 'car boy' I brain fart on the model of the Lotus and the film.

ANYTHING BONDIAN ROB:
Talks about his time at London Film Fair. He met Daphne Deckers from Tomorrow Never Dies.

And Papillon Soo from A View to a Kill.

There is a story fact checked from the book by Garth Pearce on behind the scenes in Tomorrow Never Dies.

I believe we also touch upon the deleted scenes of the TWINE boat chase with former guest Terry Bamber, you can see on YouTube here.

MIN 10
The titles continues with more erect-nippled silhouetted girls before it finally transitions into the main film. We see Bond arrive at the Hotel Estoril in Portugal in his DBS and he parks up alongside the red cougar.
A faint piece of small plot contrivance that he so happens to be staying at the same hotel as Tracy. Bond honks his horn and orders the valet to take care of his clubs. He also greets Manuel and asks how the Palazzo is doing. He is just about to enquire into whose Red Cougar that belongs to.

Clothes: Bond is looking immaculate in a cream suit with pink shirt. As best described on Matt Spaiser's blog here. For the full story of James Bond and his clothes don't forget to buy mine and Matt's book From Tailors With Love.
The scene ends with Bond and Manuel walking away in mid-discussion.

IN THE NEWS
We commemorate the sad passing of Tchéky Karyo, Dmitri Mishkin in GoldenEye dies at 72. And Lee Tamahori director of Die Another Day.

Here is a photo of Lee and my mate Trevor who I think bears an uncanny resemblance.

MIN 11
Manuel informs Bond that the car belongs to Countess Teresa. He then shows him to his room, informing him that they have just had a cancellation. There is a good rapour with Bond and Manuel which tells us this is not the first time that Bond has stayed at the hotel. Bond steps out onto the terrace overlooking the pool.
"This will do. This will do me nicely." He purrs.
Manuel says:
"I'm sure we can cater to your special needs."
The shot of the pool transitions beautifully from day into night, aided by the neon reflection of the word Casino, as it ripples in the water.

FROM MARC HERNANDEZ
So Cliff Culley (1927-2016) was the Uncle of my Uncle Colin's wife (Lynne Culley).
My Auntie Lynne's late dad and Cliff were brothers.
Therefore Cliff wasn't a blood relative of mine, but according to google it made him my second cousin once removed, through my Uncle's wife's family.
I found all this out about 20 years ago, by which time Cliff was suffering with ill health so unfortunately I was never able to talk to him about Bond before he passed away.
Although he was uncredited on the front & end titles of the Bond films he worked on, he was interviewed for the behind the scenes documentaries that are on the DVDs and BluRays. He's on them discussing the various matte paintings and optical effects he did for the first four Connery Bond films & OHMSS.
Terry Adlam also did a really nice interview with Cliff in 1998 for 007 magazine which you can read here.
There's a great story about Cliff playing golf with Sean in between Goldfinger being made.
We next see Bond stroll through the Casino floor wearing his tuxedo. The closing shot is a set of cards and chips on the blue felt table.

We finish up with listener mail, and be sure to stay tuned to the end for a 'pee in a waste bag' story.
LASTLY - Random stuff
The Rolls outside DUKES.

And the ruffle shirt, worn on Doug Mountjay.

This month we are partnered with Wilde & Harte Razors and Prop Store.
